Dead Prom Queens have been active in San Francisco since 1993, building a sound on drum machines and handclaps, fuzzy bass and cheap synths: deathrock with the camp turned up and the lights turned down.

Cilla Hex fronts the band, a theatrical voice that swings from sweet to shrill inside a line. Dead Wren Walking plays bass, guitar and keys, and sings two songs. Ellis Static plays guitar and synths and does the programming.

Class of Never, the band's first album, came out in 1996. It is a night at the prom, from the crowning to the last slow dance.
